This trek has emerged as the most popular trek in the Ü region in recent years. Well equipped with camping and kitchen gears, you will walk six to seven hours a day to reach Samye Monastery in 4 days. The trek involves crossing of numerous high passes including Shuga La or Zhukar La ( 5210m ). The trek ends in Samye Monastery which is deservedly the most popular destinations for travelers in Tibet . It has the history of more than 1200 years and is the first of Tibet 's monastic institutions
Itinerary
Day 01: Arrival in Lhasa (Alt. 3,658m/12,193ft) (B/D)
Flight to Lhasa. Upon arrival at the airport, you are met and transferred to city by our guide. Check in hotel and take rest for acclimatization. Accommodation in middle range Dhud Gu or Yak or Gorkha Hotel.
Day 02-03: At Lhasa, visiting its cultural highlights. (B)
Explore the forbidden city of Lhasa, visit Dalai Lama's Potala and Norbulingkha Palaces, Drepung Monastery, Sera Monastery, Jorkhang Temple and Barkhor Street.
Day 04: Lhasa-Ganden. (B/D)
Drive to Ganden Monastery, one of the major Gelug Monasteries of Tibet. The head of the Gelugpa Order resides in this monastery.
Day 05-09: Ganden to Samye trekking. (B/L/D)
Trekking.
Day 10: Samye To Tsetang and take the tour of its highlights.(B)
In the morning, visit the Samye Monastery, take a truck ride to the Yambulakhang River and cross the river by ferry. Drive to Tsedang-the gateway to the Yarlung Valley.
Day 11: At Tsedang (B)
Explore the highlights of Tsedang such as Tradruk Temple, Yambulakhang Palace and visit the tombs of ancient Yarlung Kings
