Sikkim Lepcha festival
Sikkim Lepcha Festival is held on 8th of August each year. The Indigenous festival based in the myth of Lepchas of Sikkim and is celebrated on 8th August of every year. This worship festival is connected with a legend of deluge that nearly swallowed Sikkim, which was ultimately stopped by Rum(God) and saved Sikkim from drowning. According to Lepcha belief, their ancestors went atop the Tendong mountain to escape from 40 days and 40 nights of continuous rain. This festival commemorates this occasion.
