Gosainkunda Pass Trek

Across Lauribina Pass to Gosainkunda

The Gosaikunda Pass Trek is one of the nearest trekking routes from Kathmandu valley. This trek combines the spectacular hidden valleys of Langtang with the sacred Gosainkunda lakes. Despite being so close to Kathmandu valley, this trekking route remains relatively unspoiled and less crowded than other trekking routes in Nepal. It is an extraordinary journey through impressive landscape, pristine valley, diverse ethnic culture, and lifestyle of the Tamang and the Sherpa people. This Gosainkunda Pass Trek offers excellent views of mountain peaks, including Langtang Lirung, Gaurishankar, Dorje Lapa, and the Sishapangma ranges.

This Gosainkunda Pass Trek begins with a drive from Kathmandu to Sybrubensi. Syabrubesi is a small village located on the outskirt of the Langtang National Park. The trekking route follows Langtang River towards Langtang Range. The trail goes past several small Sherpa and Tamang settlements to Kyanjin Gompa. From Langtang valley, the journey shifts towards the holy lakes of Gosaikunda across the Lauribina La Pass(4610m) with stunning views of Ganesh Himal, Langtang Lirung, and the other surrounding peaks along the way. Gosainkunda is sacred for both the Hindus and Buddhists. Tens of thousands of pilgrims visit Gosainkunda during the festival of Janai Purnima.
