This Langtang Gosainkunda Helambu trek is one of the most spectacular journeys in the Himalayas. This journey will take you across the Langtang Valley, the sacred Gosaikunda Lakes, and the Helambu valley. Sherpa and Tamang tribes inhabit this region. They share a similar religion, language, and clothing style. The landscapes are exceptionally varied, with terraced rice fields, gigantic rhododendron and fir forests in the lower region, and rugged rocky landscapes in the higher region with fascinating snowy peaks at the backdrop.
As usual, our trek begins from Syabrubesi, a Sherpa village situated on the edge of the Langtang National Park. We climb through beautiful thick oak and rhododendron forests up to Langtang valley. Further, we make our way towards Kyanjin Gompa. Kyanjin Gompa is well known for its local cheese factory. Following the beautiful views from Tserko Ri, we retrace our hike back to Lama hotel and continue towards Gosaikunda. We cross over the Lauribina La pass and reach Gosaikunda. Gosainkunda is a popular pilgrimage site for both Hindus and Buddhists. Every year thousands of pilgrims from all over Nepal and India visit this place during the Janai Purnima festival.
After Gosaikunda lakes, the trail continues across the Lauribina La pass towards the beautiful Helambu valley. Helambu valley is a collection of numerous and picturesque Sherpa villages. Despite its proximity to Kathmandu, the trails remain blissfully quiet as you wind your way through cultivated terraces, Sherpa villages, and mountain views. Enjoy the authentic taste of rural Nepal before returning to Kathmandu.
