Our 2-week trip in late September was to western and central Bhutan. We started in Paro and then to Thimphu, the capital, follow by the Punakha valley and then the valley of Phobjikha valley. We visited temples and forts along the way and did relaxing hikes. On the long drive (on a road that was a bit scary)from Phobjjkha to Bumthang we visited the Tsonga Dzong. We spent a few days in the Bumthang valley and then by airplane back to Paro to visit Tiger’s Nest before departing. In Thimphu, Phobjika valley and Bumthang  valley we experienced Buddhist festival with the traditional dancing and music. It was a great adventure and a spiritual journey as well. Our Wind Horse guide and driver were very accommodating and informative on Bhutanese customs, culture and history. Tiger’s Nest is not to be missed and is best to be done at the end of the trip when you are acclimated to the altitude. We have traveled the world but going to Bhutan was a special experience we will always cherish. We thank Wind Horse for making it possible and answered all our questions in the planning and preparation process and being our valued companions each day from arrival to departure from Bhutan. Definitely a top rating for Wind Horse!
