Day Rides in Bumthang
Village, forest and riverside trails straight from the Tang ranch.
Ride the quiet trails of Tang Valley in Bumthang and the glacial meadows of Phobjikha in Gangtey: village paths, forest ridges and centuries-old monasteries, at the pace of a mountain horse.
Wind Horse Ranch began in 2012 on ten acres of community-leased land in Tang Valley, Bumthang, born from a love of horses, adventure and Bhutan’s landscapes. It has grown into a home for horses and riders alike, with a panoramic outdoor arena and miles of trails.
By 2018, interest from tour operators and hoteliers led us to open a second ranch in the glacial Phobjikha Valley of Gangtey.
Our purpose is to grow rural tourism in Bhutan, support the communities around our ranches, and set a standard for the ethical care of horses and the land.

In Bhutan's cultural heartland, with quiet trails close to Ogyen Choling Palace Museum, Kunzangdrak and Thowadra. An intimate, off-the-beaten-path ride.
