Mr. Dechen, an aspiring poet and writer, joined Wind Horse Tours, Treks & Expeditions in 2018 after graduating in Business Studies from Gedu College.
As the eldest in his family from a remote village in Mongar District, Dechen learned the value of responsibility and perseverance from an early age. Soon after completing Class XII, he began his professional journey with the Royal Insurance Corporation of Bhutan, where he gained several years of valuable work experience.
However, his ambition for higher education never faded. Determined to continue his studies, he used his hard-earned savings to pursue further education. During this period, he faced an unexpected and difficult setback when he lost his hearing. Despite seeking medical treatment, his hearing could not be restored. Rather than allowing this hardship to define his journey, Dechen continued to move forward with determination.
After completing his studies, he joined Wind Horse as an Assistant Accountant. Through dedication, patience, and consistent hard work, he gradually took on greater responsibilities and eventually progressed to become a full-fledged Accountant with the company.
Beyond his professional life, Dechen continues to nurture his passion for poetry and writing. His journey is one of perseverance, a reminder that setbacks may change the path, but they do not necessarily have to stop the journey.
