Menjur is one of the company’s oldest and most experienced staff members. He began his career in the tourism industry in 1991, even before the establishment of Wind Horse Tours, Treks & Expeditions.
Over the years, he has witnessed and experienced the many changes and developments in Bhutan’s tourism sector. He was also among those licensed by the Department of Tourism as a trekking cook, a role that allowed him to travel extensively and work on treks across different parts of the country.
Before joining Wind Horse Tours, Treks & Expeditions in 2001, Menjur worked with several tourism companies and gained valuable experience as a trekking cook in various regions of Bhutan. His extensive field experience and practical knowledge have contributed greatly to his growth within the company.
He initially joined Wind Horse as a trekking cook and, through his dedication, experience, and commitment, gradually took on greater responsibilities and was promoted to Trekking In-charge. In his current role, he oversees the company’s trekking operations, including organizing treks, allocating cooks, maintaining inventories of trekking equipment and supplies, and arranging the leasing of horses required for trekking trips.
With more than three decades of experience in Bhutan’s tourism industry, Menjur remains a valuable member of the company, carrying with him a wealth of practical knowledge and first-hand experience of the evolution of trekking and tourism in Bhutan.
