Yonten Jamtsho

Yonten Jamtsho might seem laid-back and easygoing at first, but underneath that relaxed style is a hardworking, focused, and patient manager with real skill. He joined Wind Horse Tours back in 2010 in a modest role, and over the years he worked his way up to become the overall manager in charge of operations. His dedication has earned him the respect of his colleagues and a real stake in the company.

He’s the guy who jumps into action when a vehicle breaks down mid-tour or a last-minute replacement is needed. His love of travel and adventure shows in everything he does. Before joining Wind Horse Tours, he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology in Darjeeling and tried a few different jobs, but he finally found his home at Wind Horse Tours in Thimphu, Bhutan.

Ask him about Bhutan or travel and he’ll talk your ear off, happily. He still loves leading groups into remote villages and wild trekking country, where he indulges his newer passion: photography.
