Dear Anand — I am sorry that I am so slow in giving you a report on the trip to Bhutan that my son, Peter, daughter-in-law, Martha and I made to Bhutan the first of April. We did the cultural tour of Bhutan first and then Peter and Martha stayed on to do the Jomolhari trek. Our guides were Pema, Tshering, and wonderful driver, Guddu. Thank you to all of you for a wonderful trip. I will let Peter and Martha speak for themselves but I enjoyed the trip thoroughly. Pema was so well informed and obviously so dedicated to Read more

I have traveled with Windhorse Tours in April 2017 for Bhutan Festivals tour and was very happy with the quality of the services the company provided. The booking process was very smooth and Ugen was always very responsive to answer any questions I had. The tour itself was very well organized and run. The quality of the transportation provided was great; both our guides, Pema and Tchering, and our driver, Guddu, were superb and took a great care of the group throughout our tour. The accommodations provided were very good and comfortable and service at the hotels was very good.

I am writing to add my comments to those of Nancy, who wrote you yesterday.
The trip in Bhutan was a total success. Eastern Bhutan gave us the rural, agricultural and indigenous views which we sought, and which your tour description promised.Yeshi is an exceptionally talented guide. His command of English is very strong and, because of this ability and his wide knowledge, he was able to provide a useful answer to every question we had about Bhutan and it's culture, history and people. He is personable, cheerful, friendly, accommodating and helpful. He can't be beat!

We had the ultimate Bhutanese cultural experience and credit the success to Yeshi Dorji who guided us skillfully into Buddhist culture. We were able to have so many questions answered adroitly and with a depth of understanding that Yeshi was able to convery with his English language skill. The trip flowed so smoothy as we visited families, camped, walked about villages and visited Dzongs, etc. Yeshi possesses a sincerity and kindness that I believe is rare, at least in America. He is a delight to share time with. My husband and I were treated to such respectful and kind thoughtfulness. Read more
Bhutan Tour for Anil Shelat and Group

Both Bhutan and Sikkim trip went well. If I were to mention some specifics, services in Darjeeling Hotel (Little Tibet) was little less than expected. (This could have been due to the demand of several guests who were attending wedding of the owner's son). Wi-fi everywhere is an area of improvement; but this is not specific to any hotel; it is probably due to heavy demand on the services.
Transportation in Bhutan was excellent and so was the guide.
On the whole the trip turned out well and we enjoyed it.Anil & Ila Shelat Read more

Visiting Bhutan was the trip of a lifetime.
I loved the Bhutanese people, always kind and smiling, the atmosphere at the temples and monasteries, the architecture, the artwork (paintings, sculptures, carving, etc), nature (mountains and valleys, rhododendrum starting to bloom !!), ....
I am not used to travel with an organized tour, and was a little worried, but it was much better than I could have ever imagined. I would like to thank Ugen, Jambay and all the Windhorse team, for the organization, planning, professionnalism and the excellent service. Everything went just perfect. My very special thanks to Pema, for his kindness, Read more

Ugen, we have now returned from the wonderful trip you planned for us. Excepting an unexpected snow storm everything worked great. We enjoyed the Radisson very much for our one night layover in Delhi on the way to Bhutan, and Druk air was able to ticket our luggage directly to Chicago via our Air India flight, making that much more convenient.
Our guide Namgay was charming and a pleasure to be with.
I would be happy to share more details with you but for now I wanted to touch base and thank you again. We look forward to planing further trips with Read more

Dear Ugen, Jambay and the whole Windhorse Team,
This is a quick note to thank you all for the support and wonderful vacation we had in Bhutan. We had very high expectations, and the trip was even better than we ever thought it could be.
It usually goes by unnoticed when absolutely everything goes right, and we wanted to recognize the effort it takes to provide an excellent service, from the booking process to the moment we left Bhutan.
Pema, besides being a great company, has incredible knowledge and social intelligence to skillfully to solve issues without us even noticing - this quality Read more

Firstly, apologies for my late response. It's been a particularly busy time at work and I've had 3 days off in the past month! Nevertheless, enough excuses and time for my thoughts.
I first came to know about Bhutan when reading this website about the 25 least visited countries in the world a year or two ago. I like to go off the beaten path, and the idea of an entire country with centuries of history, it's own unique culture, people, and way of life, can exist with so many people not even knowing about it's existence is surreal to Read more
