Rate this festival

Nimalung Tsechu is held on the 5th month of the Bhutanese calendar in front of Nimalung monastery, located in Chumey valley in Bumthang Dzongkhang (district). During this festival a giant Thongdrol (or Thangka) with applique work with images of Guru Rimpoche is put on display. The sight of this Thongdrol is said to cleanse the sins of all those who look upon it. This festival is observed for three days with great joy with a series of spectacular mask dances and historical folk dances.
