Kurjey Tsechu
Kurjey Tsechu festival is a one day event held in the front of Kurjey temple complex in Jakar, Bumthang. The monks of Trongsa Rabdey move to Jakar in summer and back to Trongsa in the winter.
The annual Kurjey Tsechu, a religious festival, is held at the monastery to celebrate Guru Rinpoche’s deeds and teachings. During the festival, monks perform traditional mask dances (cham) and other religious rituals, attracting both locals and tourists.
Kurjey Monastery is a sacred site linked to Guru Rinpoche, a revered Buddhist figure considered second Buddha in Bhutan. The complex houses three main temples, including Guru Lhakhang, and is known for a cave with an imprint of Guru Rinpoche’s body.
