Ugyen Choling Kangsoel, also spelled Ogyen Choling, is held at Ogyen Choling Palace (Manor) in the Tang Valley of Bumthang. Kangsoel is a term in Bhutanese culture referring to a religious ceremony or ritual offering. The Ugyen Choling Kangsoel is held annually from the 8th to the 10th day of the 10th month of the Bhutanese calendar, which typically falls in late October or November.
Orgyen Choling was originally a palace–monastic site associated with the 14th-century saint Dorji Lingpa. His descendants held the status of Lama Chöje, or “religious nobility.” A portion of the palace has since been converted into a private museum.
Wind Horse Ranch, located in Tang at Woblathang, lies not far from Ogyen Choling Manor.
