The annual Zhemgang Tshechu draws crowds from across the region for three days of traditional dances, music, and mask performances. Colorful festivities culminate in the unveiling of a grand Thongdrel tapestry of Guru Rinpoche on the fourth day, symbolizing spiritual blessings. This vibrant celebration serves as a cherished gathering to honor Bhutanese culture and heritage.
The festival is held in Zhemgang Dzong, situated atop a hill at an altitude of less than 2000m in central Bhutan. The district predominantly lies in a warmer subtropical zone characterized by dense vegetation and diverse fauna, especially birds.
