UNESCO World Heritage Site Tour – 4 Days

This itinerary is suitable for those people who are interested in UNESCO world heritage monuments. Similarly, if you have a short time in Kathmandu, or you want few days extension trips in Kathmandu, this package is best suitable. You will be exploring the Kathmandu city, Bhaktapur city, Changunarayan Pashupatinath Temple, Nagarkot and Swambhunath Stupa. These monuments are listed under the UNESCO World Heritage sites.

Day 1: Arrive in Kathmandu
Upon arrival, meet and transfer to the hotel. Depending on arrival time, you have the option to stroll around Thamel and the local streets of Kathmandu.
Overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 2: Bhaktapur and Nagarkot
After breakfast, drive to Bhaktapur via Bhaktapur road and Nagarkot highway(30min). Bhaktapur is a medieval city, and you will explore the Bhaktapur Durbar Square, Golden Gate, Nyatapole Temple, Palace of 55 windows, and Dattatreya Temple. After exploring Bhaktapur, drive about 30 minutes to Changunarayan(world heritage site) temple. After the visit, drive to Nagarkot for sunset and sunrise view. (if you are interested in hiking, there is also the option to hike about 2hrs towards Nagarkot). Nagarkot is one of the famous viewpoints for spectacular mountain views, including Mt. Everest and Langtang mountain.
Overnight in Nagarkot.

Day 3: Kathmandu Sightseeing
Full day guided tour of Kathmandu valley takes on a visit to Pashupatinath Temple. Pashupatinath temple is one of the holiest Hindu sites in Nepal. Next, we shall transfer to the city center to explore the ancient city of Kathmandu. Visit the Kathmandu Durbar Square, the Hanuman Dhoka, and Kumari temple, full of ancient art and craft. Here you have the opportunity to see the traditional art and craft dating from the 12th – 17-century. Do not forget to walk towards the north of Kathmandu Durbar Square and visit the Ason and Indrachok markets. These are traditional typical open markets and traditional houses from the 17th century. Some of them remained unchanged even through time. Then drive west to the Swayambunath stupa. The Syambhunath is also known as the monkey temple, as you will see the large number of monkeys surrounding the Stupa. This place is popular between Buddhists and Hindus equally. On top of that, you can have an entire Kathmandu valley view from the hilltop.
Overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 4: Departure:
Transfer to the airport for your departure flight.
