We were a group of 7 friends from the UAE who trek regularly together and this season undertook the Khopra Danda “Ridge” Trek in the Annapurna Conservation Area with excursion to Khopra Khayer Lake. The Lake sits at approximately 4,660m.

Overall the trek was exceptionally scenic with vistas of Annapurna South Peak, Machhapuchhare and Dhaulagiri. We trekked through a variety of flora, being fields, rhododendron forests and moorlands. Eagles, Vultures, a variety of smaller ground animals along with Mountain Buffalo are a regular site on this trail. The tea houses were all comfortable with good atmosphere and tasty hot meals!

The trek was organised by Wind Horse Nepal who, without a doubt were very professional, courteous and knowledgeable! Our lead guide for the trek, Hem led the way at a comfortable pace for the whole group, and who was very informative throughout the journey! Thank you very much Wind Horse for a fabulous trek!
