The Alpine Summer Festival is a vibrant celebration held annually in the Tibetan Plateau region, particularly in Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, and Sikkim. It takes place during the peak of the summer season, usually in July or August, and showcases the rich cultural heritage of the alpine communities.

The festival features traditional music, dancing, arts and crafts, and local rituals. Visitors can enjoy cultural performances, including Chams (traditional dances), music festivals, and tasty local foods. The festival celebrates the mountainous beauty, spirituality, and community spirit of the high-altitude regions, attracting both locals and tourists alike.

Tourism Council of Bhutan along with Haa Dzongkhag (District administration) is organizing a 2-day Alpine Summer Festival on 9th & 10th July 2011. In addition to mask dances and traditional Bhutanese folk singing and dances, the tourists can taste traditional Haa Cuisine (which is different from other Bhutanese food), see alpine flower display, see traditional sports such as archery and darts. There is also preview of how local shaman conducts. The festival is aimed to give tourists one to one experience with local people and their culture. Attached is the detailled activities planned for this two day festival.
