His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama , Jetsun Jamphel Ngawang Lobsang Yeshe Tenzin Gyatso, referred to as Yeshe Norbu (Wishfulfilling Gem) or Kundun was born on born on 6 July 1935. His birthday is celebrated by Tibetan Communities in exile and Tibetan Buddhists all over the world, particularly in India, where Tibetan population is large.
