Nabji Lhakhang Drup Festival is held at the village temple of Nabji, a historic settlement in Trongsa Dzongkhag. In recent years, the village has become accessible by road and is located near Reotala, between Zhemgang/Tingtibi and Trongsa.
Set amid lush semi-tropical forests, Nabji is a place of profound historical and spiritual importance. According to tradition, this is where Guru Rinpoche (Padmasambhava) brokered a peace pact between Sindhu Raja, the local king of Bumthang, and Nawoche, a king from the Indian plains. This legendary mediation transformed Nabji into a sacred site symbolizing reconciliation and harmony.
The festival reflects this rich legacy, blending religious rituals, sacred dances, and community participation in a serene rural setting. Nabji Lhakhang Drup offers visitors a meaningful cultural experience, deeply rooted in Bhutanese history and surrounded by pristine natural beauty.
