Pad-seling Kuchoed is a traditional Buddhist festival celebrated in the Pad-seling region of Bhutan. It is dedicated to honoring the teachings and spiritual legacy of Padmasambhava (Guru Rinpoche), one of the most revered figures in Tibetan Buddhism. The festival typically takes place on the 10th day of the 10th month of the Tibetan lunar calendar, coinciding with the day of Guru Rinpoche’s enlightenment.

During Pad-seling Kuchoed, ceremonies and rituals are performed at local monasteries, especially in the Pad-seling Monastery, which holds a central place in the festival. The celebrations include prayer recitations, meditations, mantra chanting, and ritual offerings to seek blessings and spiritual protection. Cham dances (ritual dances) are performed by monks in colorful costumes, symbolizing the triumph of good over evil.

The festival is also a time for locals and visitors to reflect on the teachings of Padmasambhava and to engage in communal prayers for peace, prosperity, and well-being.

Padsel Ling Gonpa Kuchod is a small festival of Padselling monastery. Padselling Monastery in located near Jakar, Bumthang. It is a short distance drive along rough dirt road on steep incline, above Swiss Farms, which can be made by walk for about 1hr. There is four hours trek from here across the ridge to Kunzangdrak Hermitage in the Tang valley.
