Rate this festival

Puhgal Parim is one of the most important festivals of the Bhujel community. It is a community festival celebrated collectively by Bhujels at a certain location preferably near a Khola(stream) and different natural deities are worshipped. The celebration begins from the day of Mangshire Purney (full moon day in December). It is celebrated for five days.

Every year Bhujels from the districts of Darjeeling, Jalpaiguri, and Alipurduar gather at Puhgal Taar located at the confluence of Reli and Teesta near NHPC Teesta Lowdam Project III. A large number of Bhujels, in their traditional dress, gather here to celebrate the puja.
