Home-stay allows the visitor to rent a room from a local family to better learn the local lifestyle, language and option to help and participate in their daily activities. Hosting a home stay also allows the local family to earn some additional income. Experience and live with the warm and welcoming people of different mountain communities of Sikkim, Darjeeling and Kalimpong, while enjoying tourist activities as well.

Home stay need not necessarily be for long duration, but because so much goes into preparation for your stay, it is only viable if you stay at least for two-three nights. Home stay is possible in few areas of Sikkim such as at Dzongu (North Sikkim), Pastanga (East Sikkim), Yuksam (West Sikkim) and Kewzing (South Sikkim) and in Kalimpong and Darjeeling.
