Bhutan had been on our bucket list for a very long time and is one of the most beautiful countries that my husband and I have visited. The final part of the flight over the Himalayas and descending into Bhutan was breathtaking. The temples and Dzongs are beautiful, the scenery is spectacular and lush with the rice fields and the culture is unique – the people are warm, friendly and welcoming. It exceeded all of our expectations and we loved it so much that we were sad when we had to leave.

They responded straightaway to our initial enquiry and this continued whilst we went back and forward fine tuning our trip. They were knowledgeable and extremely helpful throughout and made the booking seamless for us. They took care of booking all the hotels, our entry VISA and, if needed, plane arrival into Bhutan.

They allowed us to extend and customize the tour we were interested in on their website to 7 days so that we could include some additional activities. They also recommended moving our dates a little to include a cultural festival. We’re so glad that they recommended this as it really immersed us into the culture. It was a great visual experience with lots of colourful costumes and masks, all set against the backdrop of the hills and temple. We were surrounded by local Bhutanese people who didn’t hesitate to share their tea and snacks with us throughout the festival.

We had a great guide and driver who made us feel very welcome as soon as we arrived in Bhutan and we knew instantly that we were in great hands. We couldn’t have asked for a better guide for our trip – he was friendly, knowledgeable and enthusiastically explained everything fully to us in each temple, Dzong and monastery that we visited, and on our walks and hikes. Each day he taught us about Buddhist teachings and made sure that we felt very immersed in the Bhutanese culture everywhere we went. He was totally flexible with the itinerary and we saw everything that we wanted, plus some add-ons.

Our driver was also very friendly and helpful, and drove carefully – we felt safe and looked after by him and enjoyed sharing stories and laughter on the road trips.

We didn’t have to worry about entry fees into any of the sites as everything was included in our itinerary. The hotels we stayed in were clean, comfortable and modern and had everything we needed. The food was very good and buffet style.
The staff were very friendly and helpful and as is typical with Bhutanese culture, would do anything needed to make our stay enjoyable and memorable. We felt extremely safe and looked after in Bhutan.

Whilst we were sad to leave Bhutan, we have brought home some wonderful memories that will stay with us for years to come. Wind Horse definitely made our trip to Bhutan a wonderful experience. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone thinking of planning a trip.
