Dechen Dzong || Samdrupling temple
About 22km from Lhasa on the way to Ganden is Dechen. The hill top ruins of Dechen Dzong once guarded the approaches to Lhasa from north. Below the ruins is a Gelugpa temple Samdrupling, which was preserved, as it was used as granary during 1960s and therefore has some original frescoes undamaged.
