Dubdi Monastery || Dubdi Monastery

Dubdi monastery which is also known as the Yuksom monastery belongs to the Nyingmapa sect of Tibetan Buddhism. It is situated at an altitude of 2100mts and is also known as the Hermits cell after its founder Lhatsun Namkha Jigme who along with two other lamas from Tibet met at Norbugang near Yuksom and crowned Phuntsog Namgyal as the first King or Chogyal of Sikkim in 1642. It is about an hour's walk from Yuksom through stone paved path covered with green surrounding. It is also a part of the Buddhist monastery circuit including Tashiding and Pemayangtse monastery.
