Gurudongmar lake || Gurudongmar lake
Located at about 5400mts, Gurudongmar lake is one of the highest lake in the world, surrounded by snow clad mountains makes it strikingly beautiful. During winter, the lake freezes except for one small area where the water never freezes. The lake is named after Guru Padmasambhava and it is believed that while on his return from Tibet, Guru Padmasambhava passed through this area and people pleaded him for a solution for drinking water as the lake completely freezes during winter. The Guru placed his hand and at a point in the lake and it is this point where the water never freezes any longer.
