Founded in 1930 by Mahakavi Vallathol, a legendary poet from Kerala, its main objective is to revive, preserve and develop the ancient and traditional art forms of Kerala. Visitors can also spend a day with the masters to witness artists and teachers in action. It is located on the banks of the Bharathapuzha River which has been a source of inspiration for some of the greatest works of literature and poetry to have originated in Kerala
