Khecheopalri (wish fulfilling lake) is a small tranquil Lake, surrounded by prayers flags and forested hills. It is located about 34kms away from Pelling. The significance of the lake lies in the fact that it is worshiped by the Buddhists as well as the Hindus. The serene waters of this lake appear to comprise a celestial charisma. According to legend, birds remove any leaves that fall onto the lake's surface and despite being situated inside a forest the lake remains clean. There is a small Lepcha community near the lake and also a tourists hut. There is also a monastery for those hiking further uphill for about few hours.
