Ranka Monastery(also known as Lingdum monastery) is located about an hour's drive from Gangtok at Lingdum. This monastery belongs to the Zurmang Kagyu sect of Tibetan Buddhism and is under the spiritual direction of H. E. Zurmang Gharwang Rinpoche. This monastery is spread out in a vast area amid forested hills with great scenic views and is a fine example of Tibetan Buddhist architecture
