Longwa || Longwa village in Mon

Longwa is one of biggest village in Mon district that straddles along the international boundary with Myanmar. Angh, the village chief's house falls half in the Indian territory and the other part in Myanmar. His jurisdiction extends to both the country and some in the state of Arunachal. He is said to have around 60 wives. Of the four rivers in the village, two Tegi and Tapi drain into India and and the other two called Tejak and Shumnyu drain into Myanmar. Most villagers have dual citizenships and there are Indian as well as Myanmeres school in this village. A small tourist village with cottages is run by the local church.
