Songzanlin Monastery || Ganden Sumtseling Monastery
Ganden Sumtseling Monastery (Songzanlin) is the most important and impressive sight in Zhongdian. Just few kilometers north of the town, on the small ridge, it has appearance of small monastic town with more then 500 monks residing. Over the years, it has been flooded with tourists especially from mainland. It was built in 1681 on the advice of fifth Dalai Lama and once had eight residential colleges.
