Our story
Guides who became partners
Wind Horse began running trips in Nepal in 1996. The trips were built by local guides who knew the trails, the tea house owners and the monasteries first-hand.
Some of those guides are now partners in the business. Heera Singh Tamang manages the Kathmandu office, while Hem Raj Bastola and Kumar Parajuli still guide in the mountains. When you book with us, the people planning your trip are the people who walk these routes.
After Covid, our Nepal operation joined the Wind Horse brand fully, so your trip is handled by one team from first enquiry to the airport drop-off in Kathmandu.
