Thimphu: Bhutan: 12, March, 14: All foreigners flying into the country will be now registered through a biometric system. The application of the new system started today. The fingerprints of passengers and a photograph will be captured and recorded.
The director general of the immigration department, Thinley Wangchuk, said once the person is registered, a simple finger scan will display his travel history.
He added it would help identify criminals or blacklisted people from entering the country with new or fake documents.
Similar kind of system will also be put in place in 20 check posts across the country
