Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Ltd. (IRCTC) has announced that it will operate its premier luxury train, the Maharajas’ Express, for a Gems of India trip for travellers planning New Year festivities in style. Scheduled for December 30, the train will take passengers for a 3-night/4-day trip to Jaipur and the historic city of Taj-Agra along with safari at Ranthambhore. For booking of tickets, the Maharajas’ Express website has been enabled to accept online payments.

In addition, the Maharajas’ Express, hailed as the world’s most luxurious train, has launched a unique offer for people planning to sparkle their New Year celebrations. Pay for one adult only on twin sharing cabin while the second adult availing the same cabin will be on complimentary, if booked directly on Maharajas’ Express official website. “This is for the first time that IRCTC has launched a trip of its signature luxury train for celebrating the New Year in a grand style. The icing on the cake is that a traveller has to book just one ticket while his companion will travel in that cabin absolutely free,” said Dr. A K Manocha, IRCTC Chairman and Managing Director.

The tariff, ranging between 3850 US dollars and 23,700 dollars depending on the train’s five different circuits, includes meals, house wines and spirits, sightseeing and services of experienced guides. All the living cabins have been named after precious gems, such as Firoza, Moti, Manik, Panna and Hakik, in an effort to recreate the royal grandeur of the bygone era.
