Taktsang Trail Clean Up campaign by Clean Bhutan

Taktsang trail in Paro is one of the most popular trails in Bhutan. It takes approx. 2 to 3 hours to reach the Taktsang monastery one way depending on individual physical fitness level, recently, the issue of littering on the trail has plagued the government and Tourism authority alike. Regular cleanliness drives are conducted to combat this menace. As such,Clean Bhutan is initiating a massive clean-up campaign of the Taktsang trail on 10 May 2014 in collaboration with Paro Dzongkhag, Schools and other stakeholders. In this regard tour operators are welcome to participate for the clean-up and further Clean Bhutan also solicits contribution in kind or monetary. Monetary contribution is to provide refreshment and trash bags to the students and in kind contribution would be in the form of Transport for 10 Clean Bhutan members from Thimphu to Paro and back.
