Chokhorgye || Chokhorgye Monastery
The dramatic Chokhorgye monastery (4500m) is 35km drive from Gyatsa town, wedged between three peaks; Zhidag, Shridebi and Begtse. The foundation dates from 1509, when second Dalai Lama had a meditation cave here. The monastery served later Dalai Lamas and regents as a staging post for visit to Lhamo Lhatso (Oracle lake).
