Best of Nepal Tour begins with an exploration of some of the UNESCO World Heritage sites in Kathmandu valley, followed by a spectacular mountain flight to the beautiful lake city of Pokhara. In Pokhara, we visit Phewa Lake, World Peace Pagoda, Tibetan Refugee Centre, and Gupteshwar cave. And also, enjoy the stunning views of the mountain ranges from Sarangkot. After enjoying the spectacular sunrise view from Sarangkot, we retrace our drive back to Kathmandu via Bandipur, a charming Newari village.
Day 1. Arrival at Kathmandu.
Upon arrival at the airport, meet our representative/guide and transfer to the hotel. After a short rest, drive south of Kathmandu city to visit the two Newari villages of Khokana and Bungmati. These two villages are located on the outskirts of Patan and are proposed as tentative UNESCO heritage sites. These two villages are the best places to experience Nepal’s age-old heritage and learn more about the daily life of the people. Evening dinner at a traditional Nepalese restaurant with cultural performance. Overnight in a hotel.
Day 2. In Kathmandu.
Full day sightseeing in and around Kathmandu city, we will visit some of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites in the valley. This morning we will visit the Kathmandu Durbar Square, located in the city center. Kathmandu Durbar Square showcases ancient art and architecture in the form of stone and wood carvings amidst numerous shrines and temples. After the visit, we shall drive north to Swayambunath temple, popularly known as the monkey temple. Swayambhunath is a world-famous Buddhist stupa and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visit the many shrines and temples around the stupa and then drive to Patan, also known as Lalitpur, or the city of fine arts. Patan is one of the three ancient cities in Kathmandu valley. Patan has the finest collection of temples and palaces with exquisite wood carvings. Overnight in a hotel
Day 3: Fly to Pokhara.
After breakfast, drive to the domestic airport and take the early morning scenic flight to Pokhara(30m). The flight to Pokhara provides good views of mountains like Langtang, Ganesh Himal, Manaslu, Lamjung Himal, Annapurna, and Machhapuchre. Upon arrival at the Pokhara airport, our guide will receive you and transfer you to your hotel. Get fresh and get ready for a whole day Pokhara valley sightseeing tour. We will take an hour boat ride at the Phewa lake. After the boat ride, hike uphill to the World Peace Stupa, the peace stupa offers a stunning view of the Phewa Lake and Pokhara valley. Hike back to meet the vehicle and drive to visit Devi’s falls, Gupteshwar cave, and the Tibetan Refugee Camp. The evening is at leisure to explore around the lakeside on your own. Overnight in a hotel.
Day 4. Pokhara to Kathmandu(via Bandipur)
Early morning, set off to Sarangkot to catch the spectacular sunrise view over the Annapurna range and the Machapuchre. Return to the hotel for breakfast, and after breakfast, drive to Kathmandu. En route take a diversion and visit the historic Bandipur village(2.5hrs). Bandipur is a living museum of Newari culture, a beautifully preserved village; with narrow lanes, lined with 18th-century built mansions that have stood firm along with time. The absence of motorized vehicles and restaurant tables set out in the bazaar gives the feeling that time seems to have stood still. Explore around the village or take a walk to the viewpoint. You can eat lunch in the Old Inn, a unique restaurant with great hospitality and a mountain view. After lunch, drive to Kathmandu(4-5hrs). Overnight in a hotel.
Day 5: Departure.
Transfer to the airport in time for your departure flight to your next destination.
