This trek offers a blend of experiences that deeply resonate with the Himalayas’ iconic image. It traverses remote villages occupied by diverse ethnic groups, each with its unique culture, traditions, and identity. Ancient monasteries, prayer flags swaying in the mountain breeze, and mist-covered valleys add a spiritual dimension to this trek.
The changing topography, transiting from verdant landscapes to arid terrain, showcases the kaleidoscope of vegetation as you ascend through the trail. The crucial moment of crossing Throng La Pass, provides a sense of accomplishment and rewards you with breathtaking panoramic views of the Himalayan peaks.
The breathtaking sunrise and sunset against the backdrop of these majestic peaks create cherished memories for trekkers. The trek gradually becomes more physically demanding as you navigate through challenging terrains, putting your endurance and resilience to the test.
Starting from Kathmandu, the drive passes through Besisahar and continues towards Chame. The trek in the real sense begins from Chame, where the trail traverses a diverse landscape, transitioning from subtropical regions to alpine and desert-like terrain along the Kali Gandaki valley.
The Annapurna Circuit Trek route slowly develops from low altitude to higher altitude giving enough time to acclimatize. The trail passes through spectacular villages like Bhratang, Dhikurpokhari, Pisang, and Braga to Yak Kharka.
As you move towards Thorong La, the views of the Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Manaslu, and Tilicho Peak become prominent. Crossing the pass is challenging, yet rewarding, after crossing the pass, you descend and enter the Mustang region to Muktinath.
You will visit the Muktinath temple, an ancient religious site revered by both Hindus and Buddhists. From Muktinath, you will take a jeep ride to Tatopani, past the charming village of Marpha. From Tatopani, you will hike to Ghorepani and Poon Hill, famous for their panoramic views, especially during sunrise and sunset.
