Darjeeling has world-famous Tea industries. Sikkim boast of many imposing monasteries and wide arrays of Orchids and Dooars steal the show with its wild lives, serene tea gardens, and ethnic diversities.
The tour starts with a visit to the attractions in Darjeeling and takes its course into the Tumsong Tea estate. In Tumeon visit the tea factory for the tea processing and tasting experience and take a nature walk along with the tea bushes, participate in plucking tea leaves, and interacting with the tea workers. The next destination is Gangtok, the capital of Sikkim, with the different sight's mainly monasteries, traditional medicine institutes, etc. The next stoppage is Kalimpong, a bustling town located on the crest of the eastern Himalayan range. After visiting its famous flower nurseries, Raj-era schools, and the spectacular vista from the ridge and finally Chalsa, a small town in the Dooars with an opportunity for an excursion to visit the nearby National park and Wildlife Sanctuary.
Outline Itinerary
Day 1: Drive to Darjeeling.
If you are arriving from Bhutan you can tour in reverse order.
Upon arrival meet our representative and proceed to Darjeeling. Evening stroll in and around Chowrasta.
Overnight in Darjeeling.
Day 2: Drive to Tumsong.
After breakfast visit Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park & Snow Leopard Breeding Centre, Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, and walk down to the Tibetan Self-help center. Later take a joy-ride on a toy train to Ghoom, which makes an en-route stop at Batasia loop. From Ghoom drive to Tumsong Tea garden. Depending on your arrival stroll around Tumsong village beside Tea plantation to experience village life meeting local people visiting local homes. Overnight in Tumsong Tea Resort.
Day 3: In Tumsong.
After breakfast visit Tea factory to experience the whole processing of Darjeeling Tea making and experience the tasting of Tea which varies and largely depends on plucking and climate changes differing flavors and appearance, later we take you to experience the plucking of tea leaves along with workers involved in the garden.
Overnight in Tumsong Tea Resort.
Day 4: Drive to Gangtok.
Drive to Gangtok, stop at Triveni viewpoint to view the confluence of River Teesta and River Rangeet. After completing entry formalities at the Rangpo border continue your drive to Gangtok. Evening stroll around M.G marg and Lal Bazaar. Overnight in Gangtok.
Day 5: In Gangtok.
After breakfast, visit the Enchey monastery, followed by some viewpoints, from where you may get spectacular views of the city and the snow-capped peaks of Kanchendzonga. Visit the flower exposition and walk along the promenade to view the Palace and temples used by Chogyals (Kings of Sikkim). Later, stop by at the Cottage Industry, where you can see and buy the traditional handicrafts. In the afternoon, visit Namgyal Institute of Tibetology, a treasure house of rare Lepcha, Tibetan, and Sanskrit manuscripts, numerous priceless statues and thangkas, and the Dodrul Chorten Chorten. Overnight in Gangtok.
Day 6: Drive from Gangtok to Kalimpong.
Drive east of Gangtok to visit Rumtek Monastery and drive to Kalimpong. In Kalimpong visit Durpin hills for amazing views of the plains, and nearby you can visit Zang Dog Palri Fo-Brang Gompa temple, Flower nurseries, and later explore the local market at Kalimpong. Overnight in Kalimpong.
Day 7: Drive from Kalimpong to Chalsa.
Descend from the hills to the plains of the Dooars. The dooars flanked by lush green sub-tropical vegetation, and tea gardens constitute the floodplains and foothills bordering Bhutan, Darjeeling, and plains of Assam. It takes about 3hrs to reach Chalsa, on arrival check in to the resort. In the afternoon explore the nearby tea gardens, local villages, and the bazaar area. Overnight in Chalsa.
Day 8: Excursion to Gorumara National Park.
Drive to Gorumara where we take you for an elephant ride and jeep safari. Visit watchtowers from where you can see Indian Bison, Barking deer, and 1 horned Rhino. We take you for a walk in the evening visiting tribal Village meeting local people. (Entrance fees and safari fee extra) Overnight in Chalsa.
Day 9: Drive to Bagdogra/ NJP
After breakfast drive to Bagdogra airport for your departure.

He was born and brought up in Tibetan Self-help camp in Darjeeling, when it was still quaint and serene towns unlike now. He still remember fondly the days of yore and growing changes that the time dictates. He graduated from one of prestigious school – Mt Hermon school in 1977. You will still find vestige of old school of English in his accent.

Anand Thapa who hail from Jaigoan – one horse town that border with south west commercial hub, Phuentsholing, Bhutan. He had his schooling in Bhutan. Later he went to Darjeeling to pursue further education. With the lush green tea garden, colonial churches and looming Mt Kanchenjunga captured his imagination, this is how travelling struck him deep.
After his studies, he went to Kathmandu and to different cities in India, making a living doing odds jobs. Finally, he joined Wind Horse tours overlooking the affairs of guests relations, marketing in 2013. Meeting and interaction with guests from different walk of life have fuelled his passion to a new height and claims to be a huge influence as a learning experience.
