Langtang Gosainkunda Sundarijal Trek is an extraordinary journey that takes you across Himalayan landscape, valleys and meadows with exceptional views of Langtang Lirung, Dorje Lakpa and other peaks. With the opportunity to explore the Tamang villages of Langtang valley to the Hyolomo villages of the Helambu region.

Lantang Gosainkunda Sundarijal Trek starts from Syabrubesi and gradually ascends along the Bhote Kosi river, passing through forests, alpine meadows and yak pastures to Kyanjin Gompa. After ascending the Kyangjin Ri, we retrace back to Lama Hotel. Then continue further to Gosainkunda lake across the Lauribina pass and then to the beautiful Helambu region and finally back to Kathmandu via Sundarijal.

Outline Itinerary

Day 1. Arrival in Kathmandu.
Upon arrival meet our representative and transfer to the hotel. Depending on your arrival time you can either relax at your hotel or take a short walk to visit Kathmandu Durbar Square. Evening dinner at a traditional Nepali Restaurant. Overnight in hotel.

Day 2. In Kathmandu(trek preparation).
Today in the first half we will visit some of the major UNESCO World Heritage Sites within the city, that may include Pasupatinath temple, Boudanath Stupa and Kathmandu Durbar Square. The later part of the day we shall keep as preparation and planning for the trek. Overnight in hotel.

Day 3. Drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi (1,550m/7-8 hrs)
After breakfast drive to Syabrubesi via Trishuli Bazaar and Dhunche. The drive goes along winding mountain road with the views of beautiful landscape and the snow covered mountains at the background. Overnight in trekkers lodge.

Day 4. Trek from Syabrubesi to Lama Hotel (2,380m/6 hrs)
Today the trail goes along the Langtang river across forests of oak and rhododendron, verdant meadows and several Tamang villages. With stunning vista of great Himalayan peaks and finally ascends through Rimche and end at Lama Hotel. Overnight in trekkers lodge.

Day 5. Trek from Lama Hotel to Langtang vallley(Sherpagaon/Mundu 3543m/6-7 hrs)
Today’s trek begins with a gentle ascend but soon turns into a steep climb until we reach the green pasture land of Ghoda Tabela. From Ghoda Tabela, the trial climbs up to the beautiful Langtang valley with yaks grazing in the meadows and a few make shift yak herders camps. Depending on the time we shall either halt for the night at Sherpagaon or Mundu village. Overnight in trekkers lodge..

Day 6 Mundu/Sherpagaon to Kyanjin Gompa (3,870m/4-5 hrs)
The trail passes across water run mills, prayer wheels, chortens, streams, wooden bridges and over moraines until we reach Kyanjin Gompa. After lunch we could either choose to rest or visit the monastery, cheese factory and explore around the village with beautiful views of Langtang Lirung, Kyanjin RI, Tserko RI, Langshisha Ri, Yala Peak and others. Day 7. Excursion to Tserko Ri (5000m/5-6 hrs)
The trail begins from a flat path but soon turns into a steep climb as we proceed further, the climb gets more difficult and tough until the summit. The summit of Tserko Ri provides a stunning 360° view of Langtang valley and the snow covered peaks making it the most unforgettable experience of our life. After spending some time at the summit, we will descend down and retrace back to Kyanjin Gompa. Overnight in trekkers lodge.

Day 8. Kyangjin Gompa to Lama Hotel(6-7 hrs)
Today we retrace our steps back to Lama Hotel. The trail is mostly downhill passing through forests and villages with the view of the snow covered peaks along the way. Overnight in trekkers lodge.

Day 9. Lama Hotel to Thulo Syabru (2260m/6hrs)
Today we begin with a gentle descent down to the river through beautiful pine and Juniper forest and then it is a steep climb to Thulo Syabru. Thulo Syabru is a lovely village that has preserved the ethnic custom, culture, and tradition of the Tamang people. Enjoy the magnificent view of nature with splendid views of Ganesh Himal, Langtang Himal and other peaks. Overnight in trekkers lodge.

Day 10. Thulo Syabru to Sing Gomba(3330m/5hrs)
Leaving Thulo Syabru we ascend steeply uphill through forests of oak, hemlock and rhododendron across pasture lands to the ridge at Phoprang. And from here the trail goes along the ridge top and finally to Sing Gompa.

Day 11. Sing Gompa to Gosainkunda(4460m/5-6hr)
The trail ascends gently up to Lauribina Pass and from here it is an steep uphill walk with good views of west Himal chuli, Manaslu range, Ganesh Himal range and other peaks of Langtang Lirung. After a short break at Lauribina Pass, we continue our journey and reach a small ridge, from where we shall have the first views of the holy lakes. There are about a dozen lakes in the Gosaikunda basin of which Saraswatikunda, Bhairavkunda and Gosainkunda are the prominent ones. Overnight in trekkers lodge

Day 12. Gosaikunda to Ghopte(3440m/7hrs).
The trail ascends passing three smaller lakes to Lauribina pass, the highest point on this trek. From the top of the pass we can have an incredible 360° view of the rocky hills and snow clad peaks at the backgound. From here it is a gradual descent to Phedi village and continue to Ghopte where we halt for the night. Overnight in trekkers lodge.

Day 13. Gopte - Thare Pati – Magin Goth(3420m/5-6hrs)
From the ridge at Ghopte, the trail descends and ascends several times across ravines and rocks and then ascends through rhododendron, oak and juniper forest to Tharepati. From Tharepati, the trail passes through pine and rhododendron forest to Magin Goth. Overnight in trekkers lodge.

Day 14. Magin Goth-Kutumsang-Golbhanjyang(2140m/5-6hrs)
We descend through fir and rhododendron forest with beautiful views of snow capped peaks until Kutumsang and then finally to the charming village of Gol Bhanjyang. Overnight in trekkers lodge.

Day 15. Gol bhanjyang-Chisopani(2300m/5hrs)
Continue along the forested ridge climbing to Thodang Betini, Chipling and then descend down to Pati Bhanjyang. From Pati Bhanjyang continue on to Chisopani for overningt. Overnight in trekkers lodge.

Day 16. Chisopani-Sundarijal(4hrs)-Kathmandu(1hr)
The trail climbs gently to a ridge and then descends down through the forest to Sundarijal. Upon arrival we will board into the waiting vehicle and drive to Kathmandu, to the comfort and luxury of our hotel. Overnight in hotel.

Day 17. Departure.
Transfer to the airport for departure.
