Our group of 4 recently returned from a trip through Wind Horse Tours. Ugen helped us for months with all the details of the trip, answering our questions and arranging personalised custom changes for us.

We visited Northern India and Nepal. All of us have traveled quite a bit, but none of us had been to India. I cannot thank Wind horse Tours enough for the excellence we had with the activities, hotel choices and mostly the guides. With Delhi being such a big city, you can imagine pre-travel jitters, but it was all for naught. We were met at the airport by a Wind horse representative. Our guide the next day met us at the hotel. We were in the best of hands with Hemant. He took us to all of the sites we were scheduled to see. The transportation alone would have been enough to drive one crazy. Everything flowed seamlessly. Hemant was most knowledgeable and had a wonderful approach. He was able to give us a mix of history that, not only included dates and names, but also wove together incredible stories that had us begging for more. He was tireless in his delivery. He explained so much about Hinduism and cultural practices. He was with us from Delhi to Kajhuraho.

In Varanasi, we had a wonderful guide named Pankaj. He was humorous and went above and beyond. Then Rajool brought us from Varanasi to Lumbini, helping us with border security into Nepal. He and the drivers were great. In Lumbini we were met by Dillip, who had a vast knowledge base of Buddhism. On to Chitwan, where the Jungle Villa staff, namely Dukie, kept us busy for a day and a half with an elephant safari ride, canoe trip and jeep safari, as well as cultural dance and village visit. It was fantastic!

Finally, we headed from Chitwan to Pokhara, where we had Hem Raj as our travel companion along the bumpy road and then our guide. Hem was another excellent storyteller and poet who made sure we did all that we wanted to and set the pace accordingly. He recognised that we needed a slower pace for walking and made adjustments. He wrote a poem about us too!

Lastly, we finished in Kathmandu with the services of Mahendra, who, like the rest was top notch. The guides really made the trip a success. Their command of English was exemplary and the knowledge and background they have achieved to get there are truly representative of how Wind horse has gone above and beyond as a tour company. My overall experience rating of this trip is 10 out of 10. The button for the number did not let me change it, so I am writing it here....the BEST!

Well, we are home, slowly getting over our jet lag..and we want to thank you for arranging a memorable trip. We have so many unusual memories and"pictures" in our minds. Ugen--Santosh may have told you that our flight to Kathmandu on Air India was cancelled so we missed our first day with our kids. I wonder if we can get a refund for that night from the Crowne Plaza? (Deva from High Asia Travels suggested that I write you) I do want to tell you how wonderful, kind, considerate and helpful Santosh was to us during a very difficult, frustrating and anxious time. The people from Air India were so incompetent, inefficient and disorganized that we were going crazy and then he intervened to help us. We are very appreciative. Re our trip we have a few comments.. The Radisson in Dehli wasa terrific also the Crowne Plaza and the Shangri-La (and the Fishtail Lodge where we stayed when we returned early fro Jomsom). The Rhino residency was disappointing and The "Jomson Mountain Resort" was awful. I had made it clear to you that I wanted to be assured that all places we stayed at would be heated and those 2 were not. With the hot water bottles in our beds and the space heaters in our rooms at Jomsom we were able to sleep comfortably...butg the hotel was freezing and none of the common areas were heated (the manager placed a space heater under our family table) We were very uncomfortable and angry and were happy to leave early. There was a smell of leaking fuel near our rooms and the manager basicaslly lied...WE had no hot water for our stay and we left early because mainly we were concerned that if the planes didn't fly on the day we were due to leave it would wreck the rest of our plans and reservations. Indeed, the day after we arrived tghe airport was closed due to high winds and we were told that at that time of year it wasn't such a rare occurrence. So our wonderful guide Sujan Rai made arrangements for us to return by jeep via the jarring but beautiful rocky road to Pokhara. Perhaps later in the season the Jomson hotel would be more tolerable...but no hot water!! After all, we were not trekking! Perhaps deva has filled you in more Our tour in Dehli was excellent and we all enjoyed...the Hotel Imperial was needless to say incredible..and we found our guide (Mukais) to be superb. So again, except for some glitches, we had a memorable trip...Thank you...we'll be in touch further. Aaron D.

North East India Trip to Nagaland & Aurunachal Pradesh Mar-Apr 2007. My adventure to the northeast of India and especially in Arunchal Pradesh was the best travel experience in my tenure. The guides were hands down the best I have ever traveled with. I could not have asked for anything more from them. The drivers instilled complete confidence as we negotiated extremely difficult terrain. The peoples that we were fortunate to meet were always open, friendly and helpful; hospitality was the norm. This is a difficult trip from a creature comfort standpoint but for me it was totally worth it.

Last spring's trip was the second that I have taken with Windhorse Tours. The company would earn a '10' on my score card. I believe they truly care about the individuals they plan for and the countries they take us to.
