Chongye Valley
The valley of Chongye was the ancient capital of Tibetan King, until Songtsen Gampo moved it to Lhasa in seventh century. The Chongye town lies in the heart of the valley, 28km south west of Tsetang. From the town, the south east road leads to the Tombs and beyond to Dungkhar and Tsome. South west road leads through the village to Riwo Dechen Monastery and Chigwa Tagtse Fort.
