Meldro Gungkar
Meldro county capital town of Meldro Gungkar is about 70km north east of Lhasa along the road to Drigung at the confluence Kyi-chu and Meldro Pho Chu Rivers. There are few Guest Houses and roadside restaurants here. Within this county, the most important sites to see are Drigung Til Monastery, Tidrum Nunnery, Gyama (birth place of Songtsen Gampo), Tangya temple, Uruzhava (9 century Nyingma temple) and 3kms just north is Katsel, 7th century geomantic temple.
