Danji to Tshochena || Danji to Tshochena Lunana Trek
Approx 12km, 5-6 hr trek/ 490m ascent, 240m descent
Just near our campsite at Danji, there is a trail junction. The one going up the valley leads to Gangkhar Puensum base camp and to Bumthang. The other path is the one we follow. It crosses the creek and leads up a rocky side valley. It is a long climb across several false summits to Jaze La at 5150m, which offers spectacular mountain views in all directions. Descend between snow-covered peaks past a string of small lakes to our campsite near the shore of Tshochena lake (4970m). Today is our first of our two nights camping above 4900m.
