Juneydrak Hermitage
From Katsho village, a 1 hour hike uphill leads to Cliffside retreat that contains the foot print of Maching Labdrom (1055-1132), a female Tibetan yogin, student of famous master Phadampa Sangye (1045-1117). Machig Labdron, contemporary of Milarepa was an adept, an outstanding teacher, a mother and who perfected the transmission lineage known as the Chod of Mahamudra. Chod refers to visualizing one's own dismemberment in the act of ego annihilation. Chod aims to free the mind from all fear and to arouse realization of its true nature, primordially clear bliss and emptiness.
