Kharchu Dratsang || Lodrak Kharchu of Namkhai Nyingpo

Kharchu Monastery is a Nyingmapa Buddhist Monastery following the Jangter Tradition, led by the Seventh Namhai Nyingpo. It offers a commanding view overlooking Jakar Dzong and the town of Jakar, also known as Chamkhar town. The monastery was constructed in the 1980s and was named after an ancient one in Lodrak, Tibet. With over 200 resident monks, if you visit in the late afternoon during the summer months, you can witness mass theological debates in the courtyard.
