Mongar Dzong

Unlike most of the dzongs in Bhutan, which were mostly built in the 17th century, Mongar Dzong was established in 1930 to replace the original Shongar Dzong. Serving as the administrative center of Mongar Dzongkhag, it is comparatively smaller than many other dzongs in the country.
The dzong's central tower, known as the utse, houses four lhakhangs, or chapels, within its structure.
