Trashigang

Trashigang (Tashigang) sits at approximately 1070 meters above sea level and serves as the center of Trashigang Dzongkhag, Bhutan's largest district. The district encompasses various villages and towns like Ranjung, Bartsam, Bidung, Kanglung, Kangpara, Khaling, Phongmey, Merak, Sakten, Radhi, and Samkhar.
The town of Trashigang itself is perched on a hillside overlooking the Dangmechu river. It boasts a charming ambiance, with its painted houses adorned with flowering bougainvilleas. The Small Square buzzes with activity, particularly towards the end of the day.
Trashigang is also the main marketplace for the semi-nomadic people of Merak and Sakteng, renowned for their distinctive traditional attire.
