Balthali || The small settlement of Balthali village
Just beyond Panauti and Khopasi about 40kms southeast of Kathmandu lies Balthali village. Located on a plateau, Balthali village provides bird's eye view of green terrace fields dotted with ochre painted houses and faint hue of Himalayan peaks in the north horizon. This exceptional hamlet stands at an outstanding place of isolation and relaxation amidst a surround of typical Nepali countryside with terraced rice fields and ochre thatched farmhouses. With snowy peaks of Dorjee Lhakpa, Langtang and the whole range of mountain rests clear and bright on the northern horizon. Whilst the backyard is dominated by high hills and lush green forests of the Maharabharat Range. The region is thickly forested with luxuriant growth of various floras. Colorful rhododendron, Magnolia and Sal trees cover the hill that undulates and opens out to terraced fields. It would be excellent opportunity exploring and discovering some exceptional species of wildlife, tradition and culture untouched and unchanged village life by modernity nearby Kathmandu valley.
