Bird Watching
Nepal is a paradise for bird watching, more than 850 species of birds are found in Nepal. Every year tourists arrive in Nepal with the sole intent of watching birds. Bird watching is one of the popular attractions in Chitwan. The Chitwan National Park area is one of the best place to observe and study various species of bird. Some of the major birds found in the Chitwan National Park area are Giant Hornbill, Lesser Florican, Paradise Flycatcher, Black Winged Kite, Cattle Egret, Spotted Bush Warblers, White Throated Kingfisher, Asian Openbill Stork, Common Hoopoe, Asian Pied Starling, Cotton Pygmy Goose to name some. Apart from resident birds, many migrating birds from as far as Siberia arrive here in the winter.
